Description ▾ 

A delectable culinary wonder, Chicken Tikka Masala is considered British-Indian cuisine’s most famous creation. There’s many myths associated with its origin, the most famous being that in 1970 a Glasgow-Pakistani chef named Ali Ahmed Aslam added a touch of tomato soup and a sprinkling of spices to some tandoori chicken skewers that a customer complained were too dry. Perhaps it’s only a story, and in any case Indian cooking’s focus on spontaneous improvisation means that there will never be a definitive, original recipe. With its roasted chunks of marinated chicken breast, doused in a creamy vibrant sauce, we’ve packed it full of aromatic, Indian spices, aiming for that layered masala flavour.

Pilau Rice (40%) (Water Basmati Rice, Onion, Rapeseed Oil, Salt, Cumin, Turmeric, Clove, Green Cadamom Pod, Green Cadamom), Marinated Chicken Tikka (18%) (Chicken Breast, Yogurt (Milk), Lemon Juice, Rapeseed Oil, Green Jalapeno Chilli, Cumin Seed, Fenugreek Leaf, Salt, Coriander Seed, Turmeric, Coriander Powder, Cumin Powder, Chilli Powder), Diced Tomato, Onion Puree, Yogurt (Milk), Single Cream (Milk), Water, Tomato Paste, Ginger, Garlic, Cashew Nuts, Almond Powder, Rapeseed Oil, Honey, Salt, Green Jalapeno Chilli, Garam Masala, Cumin Powder, Coriander Powder, Turmeric & Chilli Powder.

Cooking Instructions ▾

Cook from frozen

Microwave
Remove sleeve & pierce film lid. Place on a microwaveable plate.
Cook on full power 900W 6 mins, 800W 6mins. Peel back film lid and add 2 tbsp of water to rice, stir both sections and cook 900W 2 1/2 mins, 800W 3mins. Allow to stand for 1 min before serving.

Oven
Preheat oven to 220°C / Fan 200°C / gas mark 7. Remove sleeve & pierce film lid.
Place on a baking tray on the middle shelf and heat for 25mins. Peel back film lid, add 2tbsp of water to rice, stir both sections, recover and cook a further 15-20mins. Allow to stand for 1min before serving.

Keep frozen -18°C Do not refreeze once thawed
