Recipe Description:

Although mostly familiar in the UK as a mainstay of Korean barbecue menus, bulgogi’s popularity in its native country is much more widespread, featuring as a key weapon in the arsenal of home cooks all over South Korea. Every recipe involves thinly sliced beef coated in a salty, sweet and savoury marinade, but the meat might be poached, fried or grilled depending on preference and the tools available. The thin slicing is key to allowing the marinade to permeate the meat; for some connoisseurs, only a professional-grade meat slicing machine will do, but we don’t expect you to have one of those at home!
