Chicken Dhansak

Recipe Description:

Although they arrived in India over a thousand years ago from ancient Persia, the Parsi community has proudly maintained their unique food culture, combining Indian spicing & ingredients with a Persian love of meat, eggs and rich, sweet flavours. Dhansak is traditionally the first non-vegetarian meal that Parsis eat after a period of mourning; its hearty flavours provide solace, while its long, complex cooking shows commitment & hope for the future. For a speedier, modern take on the dish, we’ve got braised chicken mingled with nutty channa dal in a comforting stew, with a sharp, tangy salad on the side.
