Every juicy mouthful of the prawns braised in herby, honey-infused tomato sauce, transports the blissful greek sunshine to your plate. Most Greek cuisine is fairly modest when it comes to its spice content, but Spetses sets itself apart in this regard. The Venetians nicknamed the island Spetsai, meaning spice, as it was part of their trade route. Thereon, this beautiful little island, just a stone's throw away from the mainland, has been famed for its delicate use of spices like cumin and chilli flakes.
